Bacon Cemetery

As an early Father's Day present, my eldest daughter and her daughter agreed to help me photograph Bacon Cemetery in early June, 2016. They did a great job and perhaps an heir has been found to assume the responsibilities of this web site someday.

The first marked burial, Caroline Houdasheldt, occured in July of 1858 on land then owned by Luther Mott. The Bacon Church stood just west of the present cemetery. The Bacon School was across the road from the cemetery.

Rows are read from west to east. Stones are read from north to south. Many rows are short and start and stop haphazardly. We have found 301 burials to date.
